As part of Project 100, INSPIRE 100 invites OB-PS members to help inspire 100 people who have never given to WAGGGS before to make their very first donation.
World Thinking Day has always been about friendship and connection across borders. As members of OB-PS, we carry stories, memories, and lifelong ties to guiding and scouting. Those connections make us uniquely placed to open the door for someone new (a former patrol mate, a camp friend, a leader from years ago) and invite them to be part of WAGGGS today.
This is not about how much you donate. It’s about taking part.
Whether it’s £10, $50, €100, or more, every first gift matters. Every conversation matters. Together, small actions can create something powerful.

📖 The Story of World Thinking Day
World Thinking Day began with a simple idea: thinking of others and doing something about it.
In 1926, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from around the world came together and created a special day to think of one another and celebrate the global community they shared. They called it Thinking Day and chose 22 February (the shared birthday of Lord and Olave Baden-Powell) as a moment to reflect on friendship across borders.
A few years later, in 1932, that reflection was given a practical expression. At the 7th World Conference, Olave Baden-Powell invited Girl Scouts and Girl Guides everywhere to “send a penny with their thoughts” on Thinking Day. Those small gifts, given by many, became a way to support sisters around the world and turn shared values into collective action.
Over time, Thinking Day grew into World Thinking Day, a name that reflects the truly global nature of our Movement. Each year, it brings Girl Scouts and Girl Guides together around a shared theme and a shared purpose: connection, solidarity, and action.
Today, pennies may look different, but the spirit is the same. World Thinking Day remains a powerful reminder that when many people give a little, together they can make a big difference.
