Events have been an important part of OB-PS since the first meeting of the members of the Society in June 1986. Whether it is called a gathering, an event or a conference, this global get-together provides opportunities for members to make and renew international friendships and to learn more about the work of WAGGGS and its Member Organizations.
The OB-PS Board recognizes the strategic importance of these events including their significant impact on membership and donation growth. These events provide unique opportunities for donor recognition and member engagement – keys to OB-PS’ long-term viability.
Presentation Ceremonies, honouring new members and those reaching higher giving levels, are held at the annual OB-PS events. They often take place in very special locations. In addition, extraordinary presentations take place on specially arranged occasions or in association with significant WAGGGS events, such as the triennial World Conference.
They also provide an important opportunity for the OB-PS members who volunteer at national level to get together and share experiences and ideas. These volunteers, known as ACTs, support the aims of OB-PS by growing and nurturing the network of members in their country. ACTs, Country Ambassadors, Coordinators and Team members, are a key resource for the Society.
