Malta Girl Guides delivers a rich, holistic programme built on the 8-Point Programme Framework. These eight areas are: Environment, Skills, Creativity, Health, Service, Mind & Spirit, Local & International Guiding, Culture & Heritage.

Our educational approach is grounded in the Girl Guide Method, which promotes:

Learning in small groups (Patrol System): members work collaboratively, learning to support each other, make decisions, negotiate, problem-solve, and build leadership skills.

My Path, My Pace (Progressive Self-Development): each individual chooses their own path, respects her own rhythm, values her achievements, and grows through collaboration rather than competition.

Learning by Doing: activities are hands-on and experiential — facing challenges, learning through trial and error, getting involved, and reflecting on the experience.

Connecting with My World: members engage with their community and environment, take part in outdoor activities, volunteering, environmental action, social awareness and advocacy.

Connecting with Others: the programme fosters empathy, respect for diversity, communication, cooperation, and global citizenship.

Through this structure, our youth programme offers a wide variety of experiences depending on age and interest: from games, crafts, storytelling, and basic skills for Dolphins and Brownies; to outdoor adventures, environmental stewardship, cultural heritage projects, community service, and leadership opportunities for Guides, Rangers, and Senior Rangers.

For adult members (Young Leaders and Adult Volunteers) the programme provides leadership training, community engagement opportunities, volunteer management, mentoring roles, and lifelong learning. As volunteers, adults help shape young peoples experiences, facilitate non-formal education, and contribute to Malta Girl Guides mission of building empowered women and girls.

Our programmes are not only local: through our WAGGGS membership, we connect our members with international Guiding events, exchanges and global citizenship initiatives. Girls and young women get the chance to broaden their horizons, meet peers from other countries, and become part of the global Guiding community.

Whether the focus is on personal development, social engagement, outdoor adventure, environmental action, or leadership, Malta Girl Guides offers a comprehensive, supportive, and flexible programme that allows every girl and woman to grow at her own pace, make friends, explore the world, and make a real difference.
