📝 Writing grant proposals and applications

Campfire Team • 2 Mai 2024

Writing fundraising proposals and applications is a great way to start fundraising. Proposal writing and preparation can respond to a specific published opportunity or request for proposals, or it can be something you proactively create when you spot an opportunity. Writing proposals can be very useful – it helps you think clearly about what you want to do and how much money you would really need to achieve it. Requests for proposals may focus on specific themes and goals, or to geographical areas. They can be focused solely on one country, or seeking work in
multiple countries. Opportunities are often published with clear guidelines and timetables and can offer large sums of money over several years. However, these processes are often  competitive, with calls for proposals often attracting hundreds of applicants all seeking a share of the funds available. By being organised, paying attention to the requirements and thinking about what you are trying to communicate you can put yourself in the best position possible to win funding.
