Why not become the next Content Volunteer for the Academy 2026?

We are looking for a passionate volunteer who is ready to fill our annual joint event with ideas, creativity, passion and create an unforgettable experience for around 200 participants.

Who can apply?

You need to be:

✔ an active member of a Member Organisation of WAGGGS Europe Region

✔ at least 18 years old

✔ able to communicate in English

✔ comfortable using online collaboration tools

✔ passionate about contributing time and energy to the Guiding and Scouting movement

✔ able to draw from experience in organising (training) events

✔ available for an in-person preparation meeting around June and available during the Academy 2026 (3rd – 8th of November 2026)

About the Academy 2026

The Academy is a networking and training event for Guides and Scouts in decision-making positions in their Associations. During the event, participants will get to know initiatives, projects and tools from WAGGGS and WOSM that will help them in their personal volunteering journey. At the same time, Member Organisations can share their best practices and tools with a wide audience.

What does this mean for you?

You will…
•    be an integral part of the Academy Planning Team (consisting of staff and volunteers) that brings the event to life
•    shape the content by selecting sessions that meet the needs of our Member Organisations
•    support the programme development and work closely together with the Programme Coordinator
•    coordinate and support facilitators before and during the event
•    conduct and document efficient evaluation, allowing the European Regions of WAGGGS and WOSM to report on objectives and progress, contributing to the continuous improvement of this important event
•    use your leadership mindsets on a daily basis
•    act as a WAGGGS Ambassador, making sure key messages are delivered

Time commitment:

This role requires considerable time commitment, especially the weeks leading up to the event.
•    April-May: 2 hrs/week
•    June-August: 4hrs/week
•    September-October: 4hrs/ week
•    November: 1 week dedicated for the delivery of the Academy
•    December: 1hr/1week

Duration:

The Content Manager role is for one year, with strong encouragement to reapply in subsequent years, as continued participation has been proven to deepen learning and professional growth.

Good to Know

  • Selection Process: The WAGGGS Planning Team will review the applications and arrange calls with the applicants if needed. We aim to communicate decisions within 2-3 weeks after the closing date of each call.
  • Age does not determine expertise and skills! We encourage people of all ages to apply and highly value young applicants who are under 30.
