The Global Youth Awards recognise young people aged 11–25 who are making significant social and environmental impact worldwide, offering recognition, support, and access to a global network through the Legacy platform.
The awards focus on youth leadership, social innovation, environmental regeneration, educational innovation, inclusion and empowerment, creative rejuvenation, community development, sustainability, and youth-led initiatives that generate meaningful and lasting impact. Each award category includes recognition for Leadership, Innovation, and Change, highlighting diverse approaches to solving local and global challenges.
The programme celebrates young changemakers while providing long-term opportunities for personal and professional development. Beyond recognition, participants become part of the Global Youth Awards' Legacy ecosystem, gaining access to networking opportunities, mentorship, learning resources, and a global community of young leaders. Finalists are invited to join the Global Change Ambassador network, where they can collaborate with peers, participate in events, and contribute to future editions of the awards as judges, speakers, hosts, or performers.

The awards are open to young people aged 11–25 years at the time of the event. Nominations have previously been received from more than 95 countries, making the programme a truly global platform for youth-led impact. The 2026 awards will be held entirely online, increasing accessibility and participation for young people worldwide.
