About the funding
Since 2011, the Regional Fund for Triangular Cooperation with partners in Latin America and
the Caribbean, financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, has promoted partnerships between countries and organizations to address common development challenges through the exchange of knowledge, experiences
and resources.
The Regional Fund promotes the design and implementation of co-created triangular projects
that allow successful experiences to be adapted to new contexts. To this end, it operates
through periodic calls for proposals open to all areas of sustainable development. It finances
projects of up to EUR 300,000 and a maximum duration of two years, combining financial and
in-kind contributions from all participating partners. In addition to supporting project implementation, it strengthens institutional capacities, promotes political dialogue and contributes to the development of national and regional ecosystems for Triangular Cooperation.
One of the participating partners must come from one of the BMZ partner countries
(Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru). Please visit the funder's website for more information about eligibility and application criteria.
