As Malaysia faces rising living costs, climate-related risks and widening education and social gaps, meaningful change often begins with small, community-led ideas closest to the problem. HMG creates space for healthy experimentation and locally driven solutions that can grow sustainably over time.

The Hasanah Micro Grant (HMG) offers funding of up to RM50,000 per project over a period of six to twelve months, with final grant amounts determined based on project scope, demonstrated needs, and assessment outcomes.

Applications are open year-round and reviewed on a quarterly basis, subject to the availability of funds.

Why This Matters Now

Across Malaysia, communities continue to navigate evolving social and economic challenges — from cost-of-living pressures to climate-related risks and learning recovery.

Strengthening resilience requires solutions that are locally informed, practical and responsive to community needs.

The Hasanah Micro Grant supports grassroots organisations working alongside national efforts to deliver meaningful, community-driven impact.

Hasanah invites proposals that align with their mission and contribute to at least ONE of their five impact areas (Education, Community Development, Environment, Arts & Public Spaces, Knowledge). The Hasanah Micro Grant (HMG) prioritises community-led, locally grounded initiatives that are practical, creative, and ready to make a difference.
