Lesotho Girl Guides Association (LGGA) recently submitted an application for funding under a joint initiative from UNICEF, the European Union, and IMO UN Immigration, via the Youth Power Hub Programme. The Lesotho Youth Power Hub is an innovative youth incubation programme that aims to increase the participation and influence of young people in the local development process and policy advocacy.
The opportunity was shared with LGGA by the WAGGGS Strategic Partnerships team who saw the details on the UN Partner Portal.
LGGA were successful with their application. Their project focuses on strengthening civic participation and leadership among young people in the Maseru district, with deliberate inclusion of marginalised groups: adolescent girls, young women and people with disabilities.
Through enhancing civic knowledge and creating accessible platforms for engagement with decision makers at community, district and national level, the project aims to reach approximately 2,500 young people and strengthen their participation in governance and policy dialogue.
Congratulations to LGGA on their successful application!
