Celebrated since 1926, World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship.
It is an opportunity to connect with our global Movement and fundraise for over 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 153 countries.
Get ready for World Thinking Day 2026 🌎
This year's theme is 'Our Friendship'.
It is a chance for you to reflect on the friendships you have locally as well as the global community you are part of as Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. After completing an activity from each of the three sections:
- Friendship Across Time & Traditions
- Growing Together
- 100 Years of World Thinking Day
You will collect beads to create a friendship bracelet representing the global community we are all part of together, the friendships you have, and the importance of working together to create a brighter future for everyone.
🎉 This year, we are celebrating 100 years of World Thinking Day! Get ready to have fun, build friendships and mark this special day with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world!

World Thinking Day Fund
The World Thinking Day Fund creates life changing opportunities. In 1932, the idea for the Fund began after a Belgian delegate at the 7th World Conference pointed out that a birthday (World Thinking Day) involves giving gifts. Since then, we have continued to honour this tradition by giving girls and young women across the world the opportunity to participate in Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting by donating to the World Thinking Day Fund.
Each year, the World Thinking Day activity pack is created with care, creativity and collaboration; but it also requires significant time, energy, and resources to develop, translate, and share with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts across the world. This is only possible thanks to the support of the World Thinking Day Fund.

To safeguard the future of this activity pack and ensure it remains freely available for everyone, we need your help. To mark the 100th anniversary of World Thinking Day, we are encouraging you to make giving part of the experience. Your support will allow this meaningful day to continue to inspire for the next 100 years and beyond!

Are you interested in joining the World Thinking Day 2027 Volunteer Writing Team?
We are looking for creative thinkers aged 18-30 to help co-create the 2027 World Thinking Day activity pack. We are seeking writers, ideators, proof readers and individuals who enjoy testing and giving feedback on activities.
This is a great opportunity to develop creative skills, connect with like-minded people around the world and help develop a key resource for young people.
