Celebrated since 1926, World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship.
It is an opportunity to connect with our global Movement and fundraise for over 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 153 countries.

This year's theme is 'Our People'.
There are so many incredible people that are part of our global community; from our members, to leaders, to the incredible changemakers who have left a long-lasting impact on the world around them.
It is a chance for you to celebrate and reflect on the people who have shaped our Movement both locally and globally and recognise ourselves in that legacy. Alongside helping you to grow as a globally connected citizen, building a sense of belonging beyond borders and exploring how your community can shape you to become a better person.
After completing an activity from each of the three sections:
- Changemakers (Spark)
- Community (Oxygen)
- Global Connection (Fuel)
You will be gathering the tools needed to create a fire, with this flame representing the amazing people that are part of our Movement and how campfires help to bring 'Our People' together. 🔥

World Thinking Day Fund
The World Thinking Day Fund creates life changing opportunities and it is one of WAGGGS' most important sources of unrestricted income, supporting the activity pack to be free and accessible every single year. ✨️
Each year, the World Thinking Day activity pack is created with care, creativity and collaboration; but it also requires significant time, energy, and resources to develop, translate, and share with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts across the world. This is only possible thanks to the support of the World Thinking Day Fund. 📝
Why is the WTD fund so important?
- It keeps resources accessible. Ensuring the activity pack is free for Guides and Girl Scouts worldwide. 🌍
- It supports WAGGGS' wider work. Providing flexible, unrestricted income to direct where it is needed most. ✨
- It creates global opportunities. Helping girls and young women access life-changing experiences and resources. 💜
- It makes every gift count. Bringing individual contributions together to create a greater collective impact. ❤️
- It invests in our future. Strengthening our Movement as we look towards the next 100 years. 🌟
In 2026, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world celebrated 100 years of World Thinking Day, and the support for the World Thinking Day Fund has been incredible, with over £60,000 raised, doubling the £26,411.75 raised in 2025. What an amazing way to celebrate this special milestone, and a wonderful reflection of the generosity and spirit of our global Movement. Thank you! 🌟

Are you interested in joining the World Thinking Day Volunteer Writing Team?
We are looking for creative thinkers aged 18-30 to help co-create the World Thinking Day 2028 activity pack. We are seeking writers, ideators, proof readers and individuals who enjoy testing and giving feedback on activities.
This is a great opportunity to develop creative skills, connect with like-minded people around the world and help develop a key resource for young people.
