This section explains how Member Organisations’ compliance with WAGGGS’ membership conditions are assessed and upheld over time.
8.1 Monitoring
Member Organisations maintain their membership by continuously fulfilling the conditions in Section 5.
The WAGGGS Global Team monitors this through:
- Annual submission of membership census data.
- Annual payment of WAGGGS membership fees.
- Engagement with Member Organisations by Regional Committees and staff
- Regular communication and reporting on governance and strategic matters.
- The results of self-assessments completed by the Member Organisation, including but not limited to, the WAGGGS Capacity Assessment Tool (CAT).
8.2 Guidance and Support
WAGGGS provides guidance and resources to help Member Organisations meet and maintain these standards, including tools for strategic planning, volunteer management, adult learning and development, youth programmes, meaningful youth participation, safeguarding and self-assessment. Self-assessment is supported through the Capacity Assessment Tool (CAT), which helps Member Organisations identify development needs and request support from WAGGGS where required.
