WAGGGS is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled volunteer to join our Capacity Building team serving as Lead Volunteer for WAGGGS Capacity Building Accreditation.
BACKGROUND
As a Capacity Building Team Lead Volunteer, you will play a strategic leadership role in designing, developing and implementing the Capacity Building accreditation scheme. You will shape a clear and sustainable accreditation process that strengthens capacity building across WAGGGS Member Organisations and contributes to WAGGGS' global strategy and Theory of Change.
The role requires building on existing WAGGGS frameworks and learning, creating a coherent and connected development pathway aligned with the WAGGGS Constitution, Membership Development, Capacity Building Framework, and Growing and Learning (GAL) Framework.
OPPORTUNITY

As Lead Volunteer for the WAGGGS Capacity Building Accreditation Team, your role is to design and develop an accreditation process that recognises and strengthens organisational capacity across strategic areas. You will manage project timelines, coordinate accreditation assessment cycles, recruit and lead a team of Capacity Building volunteers, and provide ongoing guidance to participating Member Organisations.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Strong skills in accreditation design, process development, consultation, and facilitation.
- Experience in project coordination and resource development.
- A strong understanding of WAGGGS as a global umbrella organisation and of the general characteristics and diversity of its Member Organisations.
- The ability to lead, manage, support, and engage a team of collaborating volunteers.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to WAGGGS values, the Code of Conduct, and policies.
COMMITMENT
The working language is English. This role runs from October 2026 to December 2027. If the role continues beyond one year, it will be renewed based on agreement between you, your Member Organisation, and your staff lead/line manager. Most of your work will happen online through virtual collaboration. If your role includes travel, your staff lead or Volunteer Lead will let you know ahead of time, and arrangements will be made in line with WAGGGS’ travel policy.

An open mind and a willingness to embrace new ideas and approaches.
