Europe: CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS 2026-2028

Volunteer Engagement Team

Are you ready for the next step in your guiding and scouting journey with WAGGGS Europe Region?   

WE WANT YOU!  We are looking for passionate volunteers with different skills and experiences to help deliver the Europe Region Triennial Action Plan (2026–2028).

As part of the Europe Region Team, you will work alongside the Europe Region Committee, staff, and other volunteers to make a real impact.

Who can apply?

We are seeking volunteers who are:

✔ Active member of a WAGGGS Member Organisation

✔ Volunteers of all ages (18 years old or above)

✔ Able to communicate in English

✔ Comfortable using online collaboration tools

✔ Passionate about contributing time and energy to the global guiding and scouting movement

✔ Interested in growing as a leader and taking responsibility as a Lead Volunteer

No need for lots of experience! We welcome volunteers from different backgrounds who represent the diversity of our Member Organisations.

About the volunteer teams

The Europe Region Committee members hold different portfolios, each focused on delivering parts of the Triennial Action Plan.

Volunteer teams will work closely with these portfolio holders and WAGGGS staff. Each team will have one or two Lead Volunteers who guide the work and report progress to the portfolio holder.

What does this mean for you?

  • You will be part of a team working on specific areas of the Action Plan.
  • You will report your work to your Lead Volunteer.
  • Lead Volunteers will have extra responsibilities, including coordination and communication with the Committee and WAGGGS staff.

Time commitment:

  • Around 10 hours per month for most volunteer roles.
  • Lead Volunteers may need to dedicate more time.     

 Duration:

  • Teams will work together until the end of the triennium (December 2028).

About the Roles 

We are looking for Lead Volunteers and Working Group Team Members.

Lead Volunteers

  • Work closely with the portfolio holder and relevant staff to plan the team’s work.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve its objectives.
  • Support individual team members in their journey.
  • Hold regular 1-on-1 meetings with team members.
  • Join quarterly meetings with other Lead Volunteers to coordinate work across groups.

Team Members

  • Work under the guidance of the Lead Volunteer.
  • Contribute to the Triennial Action Plan in a specific area.
  • Tasks and time commitment may vary depending on the working group and the period of the triennium.

How Can You Apply?

Step 1: Join the Global Volunteer Pool

  • The call for the Global Volunteer Pool is always open, you can join anytime! 👉 Join the WAGGGS Volunteer Pool
  • Complete the Recommendation Form (attached also to this message).
  • Contact your International Commissioner or International Team for endorsement (depending on the internal process in your Member Organisation).
  • Send Your Form: Email the completed form to: [email protected]
  • All our volunteers need to be part of the global volunteer pool

Step 2: Access Campfire

Once approved, you’ll receive an invite to Campfire, our online platform.

  • On Campfire, you’ll find calls for different working groups (December–February).
  • Each call will include all details on how to apply for that specific group.

Step 3: Read the Working Group Descriptions
In this call, you’ll find a PDF with detailed descriptions of the working groups we’re currently recruiting for. Take some time to review the information and decide which group best matches your skills and interests.


Step 4: Apply by Filling in the Form
Once you’ve chosen the working group you’d like to join, complete the application form here: WAGGGS Europe Region - 2026-2028 Call for volunteers second round – Fill in form 
Please submit your form before 25th of February. 


Good to Know

  • Selection Process: The Europe Region Committee will review applications and decide which working group you join. We aim to communicate decisions within 2 weeks after the closing date of each call.
  • All experience levels are welcome! Whether you want to develop new skills, share your expertise, boost your CV, or simply learn and have fun with volunteers from across Europe, then this is for you!
