OB-PS Board Elections
At the Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS), we know that real change happens when dedicated people come together with a shared purpose. For more than four decades, our members have helped drive the mission of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS): to enable girls and young women to develop their fullest potential as responsible citizens of the world.
This is your reminder that nominations close 30th November for the next elections to the OB-PS Board for the 2026-2030 term. Serving on the Board is a chance to contribute your expertise, skills, passion, and vision to strengthen our Society and ensure that our impact continues to grow.
Whether you put yourself forward or nominate someone you know, this is your opportunity to shape the future of our Society and the global movement it supports.
Cyprus 2025
A huge thank you to everyone who attended the Annual Event in Cyprus this October. It brought together members for four days of connection, insight, and inspiration.
The programme featured powerful contributions from inspiring leaders Annita Demetriou, President of the Cyprus House of Representatives, and Dr Maria Terzi, who offered a forward-looking perspective on AI. Their sessions; together with dynamic panel discussions and hands-on workshops, created meaningful dialogue and fresh ideas for the future.
If you were unable to attend the event, or would like to revisit it, the Plenary Session—including updates from WAGGGS CEO Nadine El Achy, World Board Chair Candela Gonzalez, and OB-PS Vice President Marg Treloar—will be shared in our next newsletter.
Cambodia 2026
The next OB-PS Event is in Cambodia, taking place 15th -20th June. This is being held alongside the WAGGGS World Conference and will offer many opportunities to engage with the wider Movement. You don't want to miss it! More information and Registration will be shared very soon.
Grow the OB-PS Network
We did it! As a valued member of OB-PS, you helped OB-PS become a Society of over 2,000 Members this year. Thank you for the part you played in encouraging others to join us, and share in your passion for supporting girls and young women globally. Your personal action has had an incredible impact.
What's next? As we look ahead to 2028, the year WAGGGS celebrates 100 years, we’re inviting everyone in OB-PS to Think 100! More to come in 2026...
Light the Future
You have helped Light the Future! OB-PS Members have fully funded the Get Ready for World Conference in Cambodia. This a special programme that equips participants under 30 with the training, support, and confidence to step into leadership and speak up at the decision-making table. Thank you so much for choosing to help young women participate meaningfully at the World Conference in 2026.
