We hope you are all well. We would like to share with you some updates on the nomination process for Candidates to the Regional Committee 2025-2028; the second version of the Regional Triennial Action Plan and the nomination process for the regional awards and the WAGGGS Medal of Service. You will also find some important reminders about registrations and the motions that will be discussed and voted on during our Regional Conference.
Reopening of the call for nominations to the Regional Committee
Thank you to the individuals and Member Organisations who submitted a nomination for the Western Hemisphere Regional Committee 2025-2028.
Since the nomination period closed in January 2025, a number of nominees have withdrawn from the process for personal reasons.
In light of the reduced number of nominees and the Committee's commitment to presenting the Region with a broad and diverse slate of candidates, the Nominations Committee has decided to reopen nominations. Nominees who submitted their applications by the original deadline and who are continuing in the process have already been confirmed as candidates by the Nominations Committee and do not need to reapply. However, details regarding their names and candidacies will remain confidential until the full slate of candidates is confirmed.
The deadline for submitting new nominations is 23:59 (UTC) on Wednesday 2 April 2025. Nominees from all age groups are invited to apply. This region is rich in talent and diversity and we encourage you to review the attached materials and consider submitting a nomination if you have an outstanding volunteer who possesses the vision, skills, and dedication to serve our Movement at the regional governance level.

Second Draft of the Regional Triennial Action Plan 2026-2028
We are pleased to share with you the second draft of the Regional Triennial Action Plan 2026-2028, which includes input from Member Organizations that participated during the first part of the consultation. We invite you to contribute to this second phase by completing this form or by sending your comments in writing to [email protected] with the subject: "Comments on the Regional Regional Action Plan" by Friday, April 11, 2025.
WAGGGS Medal of Service and Western Hemisphere Regional Awards
- WAGGGS Medal of Service
The WAGGGS Medal of Service is the highest form of recognition that WAGGGS can bestow and is presented to individuals (volunteers or staff) who have distinguished themselves in their outstanding service to Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting at both national and regional/global levels.
If you would like to nominate someone to receive the WAGGGS Medal of Service, please read the information pack and send your nomination form to [email protected] by 30 April 2025.
- Western Hemisphere Regional Awards
The Western Hemisphere Regional Awards open their nomination process every two years to recognize the exceptional efforts and work of volunteers and their projects at Member Organizations in our region.
If you would like to nominate someone for one of the Western Hemisphere Regional Awards, please read the call for nominations and complete the online form.
The deadline for submitting nominations for both calls is Wednesday, 30 April at 11:59 PM (UTC).
Reminders
- Registrations: Please, see the Booking pack here to help you go through the registration process and prepare your delegation in advance. The deadline to register is 30 April, 2025 at 23:59 hrs (UTC).
- Proposed Motions: The deadline for submitting your forms by mail to [email protected] is Monday, April 7, 2025, at 23:59 hrs (UTC).
