Welcome to the Inspire 100 Challenge

Thank you for joining the Inspire 100 Challenge! This page is here to help you take part in a simple but powerful way to support Project 100 and World Thinking Day.
The idea is straightforward: make a small gift to WAGGGS yourself, then encourage one new person (someone who hasn’t given before) to do the same. Every gift matters, no matter the size, and every conversation helps bring more people into our global community.
Below, you’ll find suggested speaking notes to make it easy to reach out to your networks. Feel free to adapt these ideas to your own style, the most important thing is sharing your story and inspiring someone new to take their first step in supporting WAGGGS.
Together, our actions add up to something truly special: 100 new voices joining the movement in celebration of 100 years of World Thinking Day.

1. Opening / Connection

  • “Hi [Friend/Colleague], I wanted to share something special happening this World Thinking Day…”

Personal touch: share your guiding/scouting connection:

  • “When I was a Rainbow/Daisy/Guide/Scout/Ranger/etc., I experienced how much these opportunities can shape young lives…”

2. The Story / Why It Matters

Why WAGGGS:

  • “WAGGGS supports girls and young women across the world to build confidence, skills, and leadership.”
  • “Through small donations, people like us help empower the next generation.”

The history hook:

  • “World Thinking Day started in 1926 with a simple idea: ‘a penny for your thoughts’ , small acts of giving that add up to something big.”
  • “Now, we’re celebrating 100 years of this tradition, and you can be part of it.”

3. The Challenge / Ask

Explain the Inspire 100 Challenge clearly:

  • “The challenge is simple: make a donation, then encourage one other person who hasn’t given before to do the same.”

Emphasize participation over amount:

  • “Even £10/$10/€10 is meaningful, it’s the act that counts.”

How it helps them feel involved:

  • “By giving, you’re joining a global movement of friendship and solidarity.”

4. Objection Handling / Reassurance

  • “You might think a small donation won’t make a difference, but small gifts together create real impact worldwide.”
  • “It’s completely voluntary, even a modest contribution helps.”

5. Call to Action

“Would you like to join me in supporting WAGGGS this World Thinking Day?”

Quick Tips for Success

  • Share a personal anecdote: one short story about your guiding/girl scouting experience or what WAGGGS has meant to you.
  • Keep it friendly, enthusiastic, and concise.
  • Think about someone they know who might enjoy supporting girls globally and make it personal.
