Dress Code OB-PS Cambodia Event

Catherine Harris • جي إف واي

We look forward to seeing you in Siem Reap. The overall vibe of the Event is relaxed and casual, and we want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout. For special occasions, we have put together a few helpful clothing tips based on the planned activities and the expected weather.

The Weather

The Event will take place in June, which marks the beginning of Cambodia’s green (rainy) season. Participants can expect warm tropical weather with occasional short rains and refreshing breezes.
• Average daytime temperature: 30°C – 34°C (86°F – 93°F)
• Average nighttime temperature: 25°C (77°F)
Mosquitoes are present year-round, so insect repellent and light protective clothing (especially at dawn and dusk) are recommended.
Light, breathable clothing, a sun hat, a fan, and a small umbrella or raincoat are recommended for comfort when moving between venues or sightseeing. Please also wear comfortable shoes. There are no restrictions on colours. Some events will be photographed, so consider being a bit camera-ready.

  • Note: Around the venue, the ground is uneven – please choose appropriate footwear, for instance flat shoes.

Dress code in temples, including Angkor Wat

Cultural Etiquette When Visiting Temples

Siem Reap is home to the world-renowned Angkor Wat Temple Complex, a sacred and deeply respected site for Cambodians. When visiting temples, please observe the Angkor Visitor Code of Conduct to show respect for local culture and religion:

  • Dress modestly: Shoulders and knees must be covered (no sleeveless tops, short skirts, or shorts).
  • Remove hats and shoes when entering shrines or sacred areas.
  • Speak quietly and maintain a respectful demeanor.
  • Do not touch or lean on ancient carvings or statues.
  • Avoid physical contact with monks and always ask permission before taking photos of people.

Following these guidelines helps preserve Cambodia’s cultural heritage and ensures a respectful experience for everyone.
