The following are the list of questions in the online feedback form that you may use as a guidance to prepare your answers before starting to complete the online form.

You may also download a copy of the question in Arabic, English, French and Spanish in Word document format at the bottom of this page.

ACTIVITY ONE: WHAT IS SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS (STEM)?

What does WAGGGS want to know? We want to see how much understanding girls/youths have of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) topics right now. Please record the words the groups wrote under each heading.

ACTIVITY TWO: HOW DO SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS (STEM) MAKE YOU FEEL

What does WAGGGS want to know? We want to understand if Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is felt by girls/youths to be a positive or a negative thing, and how girls/youths feel about the topics. How many girls/youths agreed that they would feel the following? Please record a number against each of the feelings listed. (Answers need to be in numerical format)

ACTIVITY THREE: SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS (STEM) JOBS

What does WAGGGS want to know? We would like to know whether girls/youths understand that Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) skills are of use in a very large range of jobs.

ACTIVITY FOUR: THE WAY THE WORLD IS NOW

What does WAGGGS want to know? We would like to understand whether girls/youths see that in many Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) jobs, women are underrepresented. Please record each job discussed and whether your group felt more women, more men, or an equal number of men and women do that job.

  1. Use 'Women', 'Men' or 'Equal' to record the results against each job discussed, for example, if your group believed that more men were engineers than women, write: "Engineer - Men".

 

ACTIVITY FIVE: WHAT'S HOLDING US BACK?

What does WAGGGS want to know? If girls/youths are able to recognise the key reasons in their own community/country why there is not gender parity in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) career opportunities.

ACTIVITY SIX: BREAK DOWN THE BARRIERS

What does WAGGGS want to know? We would like to hear from girls/youths their ideas on what changes they want to see, to make access to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and jobs equal. Please record their ideas to break each of the barriers identified.

  1. Please write the barrier down, followed by the ideas that the girls/youths gave to break this barrier down. For example: "No female role models: Find mentors in local Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) businesses to come and talk to our group"

 

ACTIVITY SEVEN: WHAT COULD WE DO?

What does WAGGGS want to know? What role girls/youths think Girl Guides/Girl Scouts could have in supporting our own girls to reach their potential in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and the impact we could make in our community/world.
