AP Region Unity Pin Design Competition 2026

 

The Unity Pin 2026 is organised by the WAGGGS Asia Pacific Region Fundraising Sub-Committee. The core objectives are to provide an active platform for youth expression and creativity, and to raise unrestricted funds to support regional development. 

 

Following the successful Unity Pin Design Competition 2025, we are now launching the Unity Pin Design Competition from 2026 with the theme “Connected Hearts”.

Eligibility

 

There are 2 competition tracks:

 

Track 1: Girls and Youth Members

  • Girl Guides/ Girl Scouts under the age of 18 on the submission deadline (i.e. 15 August 2026).

  • A member of the WAGGGS Asia Pacific Region Member Organisation (MO)

Track 2: Adult Members

  • Girl Guides/ Girl Scouts, Adult Members aged 18 or above on the submission deadline (i.e. 15 August 2026).

  • A member of the WAGGGS Asia Pacific Region Member Organisation (MO)

 

Note: This is an individual competition, and all entries require official Member Organisation (MO) endorsement.

 

Judging & Evaluation Criteria

Entries will be graded based on a predefined percentage score matrix:

  • Concept & Relevance (40%): How well the visual design represents the theme "Connected Hearts".

  • Originality & Creativity (40%): The uniqueness and creative execution of the design.

  • Practicality (20%): The viability of manufacturing the design as a physical circle-shaped pin with a 2-cm diameter and a maximum of 3 to 5 colours.

Design Specifications

  • The pin design must be inspired by or relevant to Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting, Asia Pacific Region, and the theme “Connected Hearts”

  • Participants can use any software or hand-drawn techniques to create a design.

  • At least two of WAGGGS colours below must be incorporated in the design and up to 5 colours should be used including the WAGGGS colours:

    • Blue #2A255E

    • Yellow #FFDA00

    • Teal #50B6B7

  • Text: Aptos or Georgia, with a minimum font size of 5 pt.

  • The design should be easily replicated to a 2-cm x 2-cm sized pin.   

 

Submissions

  • MOs must submit entries for all participants of the MO via this link by Saturday, 15 August 2026 at 23:59 UTC.

  • By entering the competition, the participants declare that the designs submitted are their original work and have not been submitted to any other competition.

 

File requirements:

  • Entry must be submitted in digitised format (PDF), in full colour using A4 paper size entry form provided.

  • Submission file upper limit: 100 MB, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

  • File name should include the MO name.

  • If the submission file exceeds the upper limit, MOs can submit multiple submissions. In such cases, each submission file should be named numerical order (e.g. MO Name-01).

Awards & Incentives

A. Individual Awards

(1) Track Winners (awarded in both Track 1 & Track 2)

  • Winner: 3 pins & certificate

  • First Runner-Up: 3 pins & certificate

  • Second Runner-Up: 3 pins & certificate

 

(2) The Overall Winner

  • Awarded to the highest-scoring entry across both Track 1 & Track 2

  • Award

    • 5 pins & certificate

    • Design will be manufactured as the official AP Region Unity Pin 2026

B. MO Award

In addition to the individual awards, we are introducing a pilot, MO-based Award - the “Hearts in Action” Award.

 

Eligibility:

  • All 26 MOs in the region are automatically enrolled. The Top 3 MOs with the highest participation percentage (based on the last submitted Census) across both tracks will be rewarded.

  • MO Winner: 30 Free Pins & Certificate

  • MO First Runner-Up: 20 Free Pins & Certificate

  • MO Second Runner-Up: 10 Free Pins & Certificate

 

Note: Winning MOs have full ownership on the use of the free pins, e.g. sell the pins locally for MO Fundraising, or use for gifting, etc.
