The Africa Regional Committee is thrilled to invite you to save the date for the 14th Africa Regional Conference. Regional Conferences are a key opportunity for the Regions to connect with their Member Organisations (MO), elect the new Regional Committees, shape the future of the Region based on MO needs, interests, and priorities, make new connections and share best practices, and work together to explore tools and resources to expand Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting within the Region.

Regional Committee Nominations
At the 14th Regional Conference, Full Member Organisations will elect the next Regional Committee.
Nominations for the Regional Committees are open. Please follow the link below to find out more about the roles and responsibilities of the Regional Committee and to submit a nomination:

The deadline to submit nominations is 23:59 (UTC) on Thursday 23 January 2025
We hope that you have already started to think about highly skilled candidates from your Member Organisations. We greatly value your active partnership and careful judgement in identifying talented, versatile and passionate women to join the WAGGGS Global Team at the regional level. Should you have an outstanding volunteer with the vision, skills and dedication to serve our Movement at the regional level, please review the materials enclosed and consider submitting a nomination. Reflecting on Motion 3 passed at the 37th World Conference in July 2021 that as far as practicable every newly elected Regional Committee should have at least two members under the age of 30, please ensure that you also consider young women under thirty when reviewing possible nominees.
If you or someone in your Member Organisation is interested in standing for the Regional Committee, the Nominations Committee is running two cross-regional information sessions in the coming weeks:
• 30 November 2024, from 14.00 UTC to 15.30 UTC - Register here
• 14 December 2024, from 11.00 UTC to 12.30 UTC - Register here
Interpretation in the four official WAGGGS languages will be available. We ask individuals to please pre-register for this session so that we can ensure we have appropriate interpretation in place. This session aims to clarify any questions potential candidates might have with regards to the Terms of Reference, the role, work and tasks of a Regional Committee member and the nominations process.
