The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund, administered in Libya by the United Nations Population Fund, is running its second call for proposals to back local women’s rights and women-led organizations working across a fractured country. The fund splits its support in two, offering unrestricted institutional money to help these organizations survive and grow, and larger programmatic grants for work that protects women and girls from violence or advances peacebuilding and women’s economic inclusion. What WPHF wants is durable local capacity, not one-off projects, reaching women pushed to the margins by geography, disability, age, or migratory status. Requiring separate applications for each stream, and prioritizing registered local groups, signals a preference for organizations already rooted in their communities. The strongest fits are established Libyan women-led organizations advancing protection and peace.
Geographies: Libya (Northern Africa; Western Asia).
Who can apply: Local and national civil society organizations in Libya, in particular women’s rights and women-led / young-women-led organizations working on the Women, Peace and Security agenda. Institutional funding targets local women’s rights and women-led organizations.
Funding amount: Institutional funding: 2,500 USD to 30,000 USD; Programmatic funding: 30,000 USD to 200,000 USD.
