We are delighted to share Growing and Learning Part One: Policy and Concepts with you all.
Growing and Learning is a Learning and Development Framework for both youth and adults in the Girl Guide and Girl Scout Movement. It will replace previous WAGGGS policies related to educational programme and adult training, learning and development. Growing and Learning will support all our organisations to recognise our strengths, identify areas for improvement and, through the growth outcomes, describe our collective impact.
Growing and Learning will be published in two parts between now and the 39th WAGGGS World Conference.
Growing and Learning Part One: Policy and Concepts:
- Describes the characteristics of quality Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting
- Defines the growth outcomes all learning and development experiences in Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting should contribute to.
- Includes WAGGGS’s latest thinking about the shared concepts at the heart of our Movement.
During 2025, we will develop Growing and Learning Part Two: Guidelines and Pathways in consultation with the Movement. Part Two will:
- Explore the growth outcomes in more depth at different stages and roles within Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting.
- Explain how Member Organisations can apply the framework in their work both with youth members and adult members.
- Set the process and checklist for Member Organisations to have their learning and development frameworks accredited by WAGGGS
- Launch a new recognition system and supporting objects MOs can offer their members.
