📄 Bid Proposal:
To commemorate 400 years since the first enslaved Africans were transported from the shores of Africa to Jamestown, Virginia, in the English colony of Virginia, the President of Ghana proclaimed 2019 as the Year of Return in September 2018. This has made Ghana one of the most visited countries in Africa. Our hospitality is unparalleled, and our nation's cultural diversity has rather brought us together than divided us. We also have a lengthy history of guiding inscribed in the country's annals.
The country is inherently hospitable to guides, which is why we have not only survived for 103 years but thrived. The current First and Second Ladies of Ghana are Girl Guides, and they are one of the most prominent examples of those who are on their way to accomplishing great things as a result of the training imparted to them by the MO.
As a MO, conducting this conference in Ghana gives other MOs in the Africa region the opportunity to enjoy and experience the stable democracy that we, as Ghanaians, have come to know and appreciate. As an M.O., one of the most significant advantages of hosting this conference is the chance to showcase our country and our diverse experiences.
Lastly, to continue the Chief Commissioner's tradition of mentoring and providing opportunities to young people, the youth will lead the planning and execution of this conference, thereby ensuring that it is tailored to the changing times in the development spheres. It is also an opportunity to develop future leaders.
