Travel to Cambodia
Siem Reap, the host city of the OB-PS Event and the 39th World Conference, is served by the Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI) , Cambodia’s newest and largest international gateway. The airport is conveniently located approximately 40 minutes from the city centre and the main conference venue.

Siem Reap City is the capital and a municipality within the larger Siem Reap Province, which is a major administrative region in Cambodia.

OB-PS Members and Guests are expected to arrange their own flight bookings to Cambodia, you can add these flight details to your registration when booking.

To improve travel flexibility, participants are advised to route travel to and from Siem Reap via major international transit hubs, where feasible:

  • Singapore
  • Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur)
  • Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City / Hanoi)

This hub-first strategy increases flight frequency options and simplifies rebooking during any unforeseen disruptions.

Main Airlines Flying to Siem Reap (SAI):
•    Cambodia Angkor Air
•    Bangkok Airways
•    Thai Airways
•    AirAsia
•    Singapore Airlines
•    Emirates
•    Qatar Airways
•    China Eastern Airlines
•    Korean Air
•    Vietnam Airlines

Safety Assurances

WAGGGS’ highest priority is the safety and wellbeing of our OB-PS Members, Member Organisations, volunteers and staff. In light of the recent border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, we took additional time to consult with our colleagues in Cambodia, as well as local and governmental authorities, to obtain the necessary assurances to proceed.

We were encouraged by the positive responses and information shared by embassies in Cambodia, which confirmed that the conflict was restricted to the border region and that, at no time, were commercial flights to or from Siem Reap cancelled. This additional time enabled us to put appropriate mitigations in place, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants.

Travel Advice

Before travelling ensure you check where your nearest Embassy is situated, as you may not have one in Cambodia.

Travel Insurance

It is the responsibility of each individual participant to ensure they have adequate and appropriate insurance coverage for the duration of their travel to, from, and during the OB-PS Event in Cambodia. This should include coverage for personal property, travel disruption, injury, medical expenses, general liability, and life insurance.

As an organisation, WAGGGS holds public/general liability insurance coverage that is reviewed regularly. However, neither GGAC nor WAGGGS can take responsibility for any medical, accident, or personal property claims made by OB-PS Event participants (other than those that may fall under public liability).

Please note that WAGGGS will not be liable for travel costs or any other expenses in the event of event cancellation or unforeseen circumstances.

Visa Information
Visitors from most countries require a visa to enter Cambodia. The Girl Guides of Cambodia (GGAC) have negotiated free visas for all those attending the WAGGGS World Conference and OB-PS Event. If you shared your information in time your visa will be processed as part of a group application submitted by GGAC. You will be greeted at Immigration by GGAC who will assist you when entering.

If you did not send your information in by the deadline, you will need to arrange your own visa.

It is not necessary to buy Angkor Wat entry when purchasing your visa, the fee for this is included in any additional tours you may book.

Airport Transfers
The Girl Guides Association of Cambodia (GGAC) will be responsible for providing airport transfers for all registered participants to and from the hotel. Upon arrival at Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI), OB-PS Members and Guests will be warmly welcomed by GGAC volunteers and transported directly to the official conference hotel, where all participants will be accommodated.

Our friendly welcome team will be stationed at the arrivals area holding event signage for easy recognition. To help us identify you quickly, you could wear your OB-PS scarf if you have one.

Local Transport
For those who wish to explore Siem Reap during their stay, the city offers safe and convenient transport options, including Remorques (Rickshaws), private taxis, and ride-hailing apps. A special discount code for ride-hailing services will be provided exclusively for OB-PS Members and Guests.
