🛂 E-ARRIVAL - UPDATED GUIDANCE:
Please be informed that participants included in the complimentary visa processing have received their visa letter from the Cambodian government and are already registered under a group Cambodia e-Arrival submission. If you are included in the complimentary visa processing, please do not submit another individual e-Arrival form.
If you are not included in the complimentary visa processing and have arranged your visa independently, you must complete your own Cambodia e-Arrival registration online within 7 days prior to your arrival date through the official portal: https://arrival.gov.kh .
📁 INSURANCE:
All participants must be insured when travelling to WAGGGS events. Please make sure you have all relevant information regarding your travel insurance prior to travelling.
🦟 YELLOW FEVER: Required for specific circumstances:
Yellow Fever Vaccination: If you are arriving from a country with a risk of yellow fever virus transmission, you must have proof of vaccination even though yellow fever is not a risk within Cambodia itself. You can find who needs a yellow fever vaccination here
🚌🚍 ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES:
Airport transfers will only be available from Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport (SAI).
Arrivals will be from the 13 June – 15 June and from the 19 - 21 June midday.

🖥️ REGISTRATION DESK:
For the Get Ready for World Conference attendees, the registration desk will be open from 8:45am - 12:45pm local time (Indochina Time (ICT)) on the 14 June 2026.
For the World Conference registrations, the registration desk will be open from 8:45am - 6:00pm local time (Indochina Time (ICT)) on the 15 June 2026.

🗨️💬 PROCEDURAL TEAM:
The Procedural Team will be available throughout Conference to answer any questions you may have on procedural matters or motions.
🏬 CONFERENCE SHOP
There will be Conference shop available throughout the entire conference. The shop will be selling items from Cambodia and GGAC members, a World Conference shop and an OB-PS shop.
📿LANYARDS:
Please wear your Conference lanyard at all times, including all sessions, ceremonies and meals. You may not be allowed to enter the Conference venue without your lanyard.
📸📹 PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN DURING THE CONFERENCE
A professional photographer will be present throughout the conference to document key moments and highlights. If you prefer not to be photographed or filmed, please indicate this clearly on your registration form.
🗣️💬WHAT LANGUAGE IS SPOKEN IN CAMBODIA
Khmer is the official language of Cambodia, spoken by the majority of the population. However, English is widely spoken in Siem Reap, especially in hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas. Many locals also speak French, Chinese, Thai, and other regional languages, making communication smooth and welcoming for visitors from around the world.
☁️⛈️ WEATHER IN CAMBODIA:
Given the warmth of Cambodia, we suggest you drink lots of water throughout the Conference. If you have a reusable water bottle, we recommend you bring it with you. We will have multiple water stations around the conference venue.
June is the rainy season in Siem Reap, this means there will likely be moderate to heavy rainfall in the afternoons.
The temperature ranges from highs of 34 degrees celsius to lows of 24 degrees celsius.
🛕 Angkor Wat - Terrace of Elephants
Angkor Wat is a sacred place and the largest religious site in the world. When travelling to Angkor Wat, please observe the Angkor Visitor Code of Conduct to show respect for local culture and religion:
- Dress modestly: Shoulders and knees must be covered (no sleeveless tops, short skirts, or shorts).
- Remove hats and shoes when entering shrines or sacred areas.
- Speak quietly and maintain a respectful demeanor.
- Do not touch or lean on ancient carvings or statues.
- Avoid physical contact with monks and always ask permission before taking photos of people.
Following these guidelines helps preserve Cambodia’s cultural heritage and ensures a respectful experience for everyone.
🪙💵CURRENCY IN CAMBODIA
The official currency is the Cambodian Riel (KHR); however, the US Dollar (USD) is widely used and accepted everywhere. ATMs in Siem Reap dispense both currencies, and credit cards are accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and larger stores. Currency exchange counters are available at Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI) and at the hotel.
⌚🕑 TIME ZONE IN CAMBODIA
Cambodia follows Indochina Time (ICT), UTC +07:00, and does not observe daylight saving time.
TRAVEL ADVICE IN CAMBODIA:
- Travel by two or three-wheel vehicles.
- Travel by motorcycle taxis (referred to as ‘moto-dops’) and three-wheeled vehicles (known as tuk-tuks or remorques) is not recommended due to road safety concerns and increased exposure to opportunistic theft.
- Basic Safety
- Always wear a seatbelt when available.
- Avoid travel late in the evening or pre-dawn where possible and use well-lit pick up and drop off locations.
- Buddy system
- We recommend moving in pairs or small groups when travelling or taking part in independent activities outside of the conference.
EVERYDAY PRECAUTIONS:
- Illness – if you feel unwell, let the WAGGGS team know immediately and, please do not attend sessions to avoid spreading illness to other delegates.
- Drink bottled or filtered water. It is not safe to drink the tap water in Siem Reap.
- Eat food from reputable sources, such as the conference venue. If in the city, consumed food should be freshly prepared and served hot. Avoid street food.

Gatherings like this can be overwhelming. If you feel anxious, unwell, or need a break, please speak with a designated Listening Ears well-being guide.
⚡🔌 PLUG AND OUTLET TYPE IN CAMBODIA
Cambodia operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz frequency.
Plug types A, C, and G are commonly used. Many hotels provide universal outlets and USB charging ports in rooms, but bringing a universal adapter is recommended to ensure compatibility for all devices.
