f) Limitations

The policy covers not only children and young people but also vulnerable adults, ensuring comprehensive protection for all individuals involved with WAGGGS. While vulnerable adults are not our target group, we recognise that within the Global Team and through our work, we may encounter individuals who meet the definition of a vulnerable adult, either temporarily or for an extended period due to their life circumstances.

Therefore, we have included provisions in the policy where relevant to support these individuals.

This policy outlines guidelines for working with individuals under 18 years of age, however this is not currently a standard practice at WAGGGS and therefore engaging with under-18s should be carefully risk-assessed on a case-by-case basis. Such engagements should only proceed if there are adequate resources to support
meaningful involvement and a brave space is established to ensure a safe, empowering, inclusive and supportive environment.
