On Saturday morning, get ready to immerse yourself in the history and culture of Cyprus! Our journey will take us to two incredible destinations, each offering a glimpse into the island’s rich heritage.

At Choirokoitia, one of the most important settlements in the world, you’ll step back in time to the Neolithic Age and witness the exceptionally well-preserved archaeological remains. In this village, you’ll also meet skilled artisans practising traditional basket weaving and experience a fascinating demonstration of how halloumi, Cyprus’s iconic cheese, is made.
We’ll also explore the stunning mountain village of Lefkara, world-famous for its intricate lacework and embroidery. As you wander through its charming stone-paved streets, you’ll see master craftswomen keeping this centuries-old tradition alive. The village is also home to the beautiful Church of Timiou Stavrou, built in the 14th century. Legend has it that Leonardo da Vinci visited Lefkara in 1481 and was so impressed by the craftsmanship that he purchased a lace altar cloth which was gifted it to the Milan Cathedral.

After lunch at the Golden Donkey farm in Skarinou, we'll continue our journey with a special afternoon alongside the Girl Guides of Cyprus. You'll have the opportunity to see the Guide program in action, interact with the girls, and experience why Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting is so impactful.
