Circular 4 - Call for Medal of Service nominations and extension of grant application deadline

We are pleased to share with you World Conference Circular 4.

🏅 Call for Medal of Service nominations

The WAGGGS Medal of Service is the highest form of recognition that WAGGGS can bestow and is presented to individuals (volunteers or staff) who have distinguished themselves in their outstanding service to Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting at both national and global levels.

If you would like to nominate someone to receive the WAGGGS Medal of Service, please read the information pack and send your nomination form to [email protected] by 31 May 2023.

🙋‍♀️ Young Women’s Pre-Event 

WAGGGS, the Girl Guides Association of Cyprus and the Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS) are excited to partner in delivering the Young Women’s Pre-Event this World Conference. Thanks to the funding provided by OB-PS, we are able to provide participation in this event for Young Women free of charge.

If you are under 30 years of age on the first day of World Conference and interested in attending the Young Women’s Pre-Event, please indicate this during the registration process. We encourage you to register as soon possible so that you can join us on this journey as we prepare together for World Conference.

Further details about the Young Women’s Pre-Event will be provided in upcoming circulars. 

✍ Extension of Deadline for Grant Applications

We know many MOs have been completing their registrations to apply for a grant to support their participation in the World Conference. In order to allow these applications to take place, we are extending the deadline to register and apply for a grant for World Conference to 12 March 2023. Once submitted, all applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application by mid-April 2023.

Young Women’s Grants

We are pleased to announce that due to the generous support of the Olave Baden-Powell Society, we are able to provide specific grants to support the participation of Young Women at World Conference. In addition to supporting the Young Women’s participation at the pre-event; there will be grants available for some young women towards the cost of travel, accommodation and the World Conference registration fee. Please make sure that any young women who may require a grant submit their registration, including their grant application, by the 12 March deadline.
